We had a sweet sign painting hui on Sunday, asking the community to be as kind as poss to the plants that are doing their very best to grow in conditions that aren’t particularly favourable - floods, road run off, pollution, unwell soil thats only slowly coming alive again - all of these things are contributing to the slow growth of our plants and the general health of the garden. Our working bee on Sunday was a perfect mix of sun, rain flowers and dirt. We planted new cosmos seedlings, sunflowers, coreopsis and delphiniums. Admired the poppies that just keep popping. Ngakinga: day 1 A big day at Ngakinga today. Char and I spread 20 meters of mulch over the land like a blanket. The first act of care. Drawing with pink dazzle, we decorated her with pathways to invite you in and entangle you, while children skipped through naming their favorite colours.
